    Sumimasen, chotto ii desu ka.

    Excuse me, do you have a moment?

    Use to open a request for help from a stranger on the platform.

  • 下北沢しもきたざわに行いきたいんですが。

    Shimokitazawa ni ikitai n desu ga.

    I'd like to go to Shimokitazawa...

    Say your destination and trail off with 〜んですが; it politely invites help.

  • 道みちに迷まよってしまって。

    Michi ni mayotte shimatte.

    I've gotten a bit lost.

    Explains your situation when someone notices you looking confused.

  • この電車でんしゃで合あってますか。

    Kono densha de attemasu ka.

    Is this the right train?

    Use to confirm before boarding.

  • 助たすかりました。ありがとうございます。

    Tasukarimashita. Arigatō gozaimasu.

    You've really helped me. Thank you.

    Say at the end, after someone has given you directions.
